About this Vacancy
DHEF-UGANDA is seeking a Social Work Intern to assist in providing support to individuals and families in marginalized communities. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social work, make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable populations, and contribute to our organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the DHEF-UGANDA team and experienced social workers to assess the needs of individuals and families in the community.

Aid team in emotional support and counselling to children, youths, and adults facing various challenges.

Assist in the development and implementation of community programmes and initiatives aimed at improving well-being.

Collaborate with the team to identify and connect individuals with relevant resources, including healthcare, education, and social services.

Conduct home visits and assessments to better understand the living conditions and challenges faced by families with team members and volunteer professionals.

Maintain confidential and accurate records of client interactions and progress.

Participate in team meetings, conferences, and training sessions.

Assist in advocacy efforts to raise awareness of social issues and promote positive change within the community.
Qualifications:

Pursuing or recently completed a degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.

Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help individuals and families in need.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized populations.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to DHEF-UGANDA's mission and values.
